Day 01 – Arrival / Colombo
Once you land in Sri Lanka, we will take you to the city of Colombo for some much needed rest. We will help you to check in to your hotel, where you can unpack and let everything go.
Day 02 & 03 – Colombo / Jaffna

After getting some rest, our train adventure begins as we leave Colombo and head towards Jaffna. The city is in the northern part of Sri Lanka and is the cultural center of the Tamil people in the country. Once we reach Jaffna, we make our way towards Point Pedro.

Then, on the 3rd day we hop into a vehicle and we explore Jaffna further as it is a place rich in history, culture and great cuisine. Later, we head towards Delft Island where wild ponies roam.

Activities in Jaffna
  • Visiting Point Pedro, which is the northernmost point of Sri Lanka, set against the beautiful waters that sit between Sri Lanka and India
  • Enjoy a guided a tour around the city of Jaffna
  • Visiting Delft Island, which is located halfway between Sri Lanka and India and home to many colonial legacies, vacant coastlines and wild ponies
Day 04 – Jaffna / Anuradhapura
After experiencing Jaffna, we are on a train again heading towards the ancient city of Anuradhapura. This sacred city is part of the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka and takes pride in the preservation of its ancient ruins and monuments. Once the train stops in Anuradhapura, we set about exploring the ancient sites and be fascinated by the work of ancient Sri Lankans.
Activities in Anuradhapura
  • Visiting the “Atamasthanaya”, the eight holy places revered by Buddhists in Sri Lanka
  • Visiting sacred ancient stupas, such as Abhayagiriya, Ruwanweliseyaand Jethawanaramaya stupa
  • Visiting the ancient remains of the Ritigala forest monastery and the ruins of Vessagiriya
  • Visiting the “Kuttampokuna” or Twin Baths, “Sandakadapahana” or Moonstone and the “Samadhi” Buddha statue
  • Visiting the “Sri Maha” Bo tree, which is the oldest tree in the world as per historical notes
  • Visiting RanmasuUyana, which is an ancient garden of the Kings, home to ancient ponds and other ruins
Day 05 – Sigiriya
After exploring Anuradhapura and getting some rest, we jump in a vehicle and head towards Sigiriya. This famous rock castle is sometimes referred to as the 8th wonder of the World and was a stronghold of King Kashyapa that is believed to have been built in the 5th century A.D. Later, we get ready for an evening safari adventure at Minneriya National Park. The park covers an area of over 8,000 hectares, consisting of tropical evergreen forests, grasslands and wetlands and is home to over 24 species of mammals.

  • Climbing Sigiriya Rock and exploring its ancient engineering work
  • Enjoying an evening safari at Minneriya National Park, which is home to Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Wild Buffalo, Wild Boar, Monkeys, Elephants, Leopards and the very elusive Sloth Bear, Indian Pangolin and a variety of bird species.
Day 06 – Kandy
After getting some rest, we are in the vehicle making our way towards Kandy. The city is beautifully situated in the central part of Sri Lanka and is a very important Buddhist pilgrimage destination. It is the second largest city and is one most of the scenic cities in the country.

  • Enjoy a guided city tour around the city of Kandy
  • Visiting the Temple of the Tooth relic, which is a scared place of worship for all Therawada Buddhists in Sri Lanka and the World. It was built within the royal place compound and is home to the only remaining relic of Lord Buddha
  • Enjoy some shopping in Kandy as we will take you to some amazing Gem Shops, Wood Carving Shops and even some Batik and Silk Shops
Day 07 – Kandy / NuwaraEliya
After resting in Kandy, our train journey continues as we take one of the most scenic train rides from Kandy to NuwaraEliya. This is perhaps, the most visited town in the hill country and the British that Colonised Sri Lanka, fell in love with the location so much, that it is famously known as “Little England”. NuwaraEliya is the ultimate destination for relaxation and a little bit of adventure.

  • Visiting Lake Gregory and going on a boat ride
Day 08 – NuwaraEliya / Ella
After grabbing some rest in NuwaraEliya, we take the train towards Ella, which is famous for being one of the most oxygen rich places in the world. Ella is surrounded by magnificent hills and is dotted with cloud forests, waterfalls, tea estates and unbelievable natural beauty. The town has a rural feel to it, but has a hippie kind of style, which caters to hundreds of tourists each year.

  • Climbing Mini Adam’s Peak to witness a magnificent view
  • Visiting Ravana Ella Falls
Day 09 & 10 – Ella / Yala / Mirissa
From Ella, we get in to a vehicle and make our way towards Yala National Park. This is the most famous and popular national park in Sri Lanka and is the second largest in the country, famous for having the highest concentration of Leopards in the world. Then, on the 10th day, we head towards Mirissa, which is one of the best places to chill by the beach and have some fun under the Sun. It is blessed with beautiful, crystal blue waters, making it an ideal location for Whales and Dolphins.

  • Enjoy an evening Safari in Yala National Park and observe the animals that rule the forest at night
  • Enjoy a guided tour around Mirissa and relax by the beach
  • Take a boat ride to catch a glimpse of Dolphins and Whales
Day 11 – Mirissa / Bentota
From Mirissa, we take the train and head towards the town of Bentota. This beautiful location is sprinkled with palm trees, great hotels and a calm environment. The town is popular with locals and tourists alike and is considered as one of the best places to relax by the beach and to have some fun.

  • Enjoy a boat ride along Madhu River, which flows through a unique landscape, surrounded by swampy marsh lands rich with mangrove forests
  • Visit a Turtle Hatchery and become a wildlife warrior and be a part of Sea Turtle conservation and learn more about them
Day 12 – Bentota / Colombo
After resting in Bentota, we take the train and make our way towards Colombo. This vibrant city is the capital and the financial hub of the country, where all the modern day activities happen. Filled with great restaurants, malls and even an electrifying nightlife.

  • A guided tour around the city of Colombo
  • Visiting modern day Malls to do some shopping
  • Visiting the Galle Face Green to catch beautiful sunset in Colombo
Day 13 – Colombo / Departure
After some rest and relaxation, we get ready for your journey back home. From Colombo, we take you back to the airport and hope that the memories you made in Sri Lanka will be with you forever.
